Film by Travis Carbonella of the community collaborative installation of Mothers, Daughters, & Sisters of the Firelight-the Women's Empowerment Mural Project. Designed by Kwadwo Adae, and inspired by the Women's March in NYC in 2018, this 18 x 106 ft public art initiative was created with 140 volunteers from the community. The mural is located at 400 Goodrich Street in the Newhallville neighborhood of New Haven on the Farmington Canal Greenway, our local bicycle and pedestrian path. The mural features 17 women in Statue of Liberty pose who have profoundly impacted Adae's life in positive ways.

The mural was made possible with a Project Grant from the Connecticut Office of the Arts, which receives funding from the National Endowment of the Arts; William C Graustein Memorial Fund; Farmington Canal Rail to Trail Association; Newhallville Safe Neighborhood Initiative; Yale New Haven Health; Yale Office of New Haven & State Affairs; Yale Properties; REI, and 27 individual donors on GoFundMe.
