Kwadrilaterals
The Kwadrilaterals series of nonobjective oil paintings. An evolution of the vibrant colors associated with the traditional patterned textiles of traditional Ntuma and Kente cloths of Ghana juxtaposed with theoretical graphs of algebraic functions which employ Euclidean, Hyperbolic geometric principles. Heavy textured applications of oil paint are applied in a manner analogous to plotting points on a graph in amounts abundant enough to approximate sculpture. The thick texture becomes a representation of the z-axis on the graph adding a deeper mathematical and visual dimension to the work.
